API will be hosting an educational workshop for BOEM and NMFS on GOM G&G operations including discussions on how the proposed changes to NMFS rules may be implemented in the future. The proposed NMFS rules will not only impact seismic survey operations but localized activities as well such as high resolution geophysical surveys, pipeline surveys and sub-bottom profiling. Non-API member companies are encouraged to attend/participate, particularly individuals who have experience/expertise in the operations listed on the Meeting Objectives.
Meeting Objectives
- Educate NMFS and BOEM on industry G&G activities with emphasis on planning and business process flow
- Identify efficient means for NMFS/BOEM to process LOA applications in a timely manner
